Aside the love for the script that is a satire about the material aspect of weddings, he was interested in doing 'A Happy Wedding' because it was a very challenging project, that had to be shot on an eighteen hour tight schedule, involving more than 35 setups and 80 shots, for a final feature length of eight minutes.
